How To Make Pasta At Home

I think it’s safe to say that most people love pasta, and while we buy it pre-made at the store, or go to a restaurant to enjoy it, we could also be making fresh pasta right at home! It only takes a few simple ingredients and is so much quicker than most people think. Here at Zeppoli’s, we love to make fresh pasta right in our own kitchen for all our dishes. So here is a recipe you can try at home, we hope you give it a go!

The only ingredients you’ll need are flour, eggs, a little bit of olive oil, and a little bit of salt. The first step is to place two cups of flour onto a clean surface like a counter or table and create a “nest” by creating a hole in the flour. Next, add three eggs, half a teaspoon of salt, and half a teaspoon of olive oil to the center of the nest. Mix the ingredients in the center with a fork, making sure to gently break up the egg yolks. Slowly mix the flour walls into the rest of the ingredients with your hands, kneading it into a dough. Once it’s all combined, knead the dough for around 8 minutes. If the dough is a little sticky after you knead it for a few minutes, add a little bit more flour to your surface and continue kneading. If the dough is a little too dry, you can add a little bit of water. After your dough is ready, form it into a ball and cover in plastic wrap to let it rest for 30 minutes. Next, set your dough on a flat surface that's dusted in flour. Roll out your dough with a roller until it's at your desired thinness. Then you can cut the flattened dough into strips, and boom, you made your own noodles!

Throw them in some boiling water and top with your favorite ingredients and sauces for a perfect homemade meal! Once you’ve made your fresh pasta, you can put it in the fridge and keep it for two days or so. This is the perfect meal to make for date night or family dinner. And if you’re a little short on time, just order your favorite pasta dish from Zeppoil’s by ordering online at zeppolis.com!
